Holly Menard here, and I’m a professionally trained End of Life Doula.  Just as there are birth doulas who companion and guide mothers at the beginning of the life of their baby, I serve individuals at the end of their life cycle.  EOL Doulas are a rapidly emerging profession that has been developing for over 10 years.  In my non -medical role, I serve as a compliment, an adjunct to the healthcare team, which includes hospice.  My role as a doula involves wearing many hats that are as much heart-centered as task-oriented.  This blog is intended to inform, clarify, and expand on what these hats mean so readers may clearly understand the value of my unique service.
